3-Scoop Words 
Creating Small Stories with Big Words

Big Words Small Stories is a video series that teach the definition of a big word in a small 10 minute video. I often refer to these words as 3-scoop words. For example a 1-scoop word might be a word like "good" which in comprision to an ice crem treat is like a single scoop cone of plain vanilla icecream. Whereas, a 3-scoop word like "spectacular" is more like a triple scoop cone with chocolate fudge chunks, blueberry bubblegum and raspeberry swirl icecream with whip cream and a cherry on top. Far more interesting. Choose to learn one new word a week for a fun way to learn big words for both the purpose of writing and for higher-level vocabulary.

Using our Picture Prompt writing pages create a sentence or two about the picture and use a 3-scoop word in the sentence.
