Long Vowels

Students should learn that long vowels say their name and be taught the different ways they are spelled, focusing on the most common patterns first: silent 'e' (CVCe) patterns and vowel teams (like 'ai', 'ee', 'oa'). They should learn to identify the long vowel sound in words and apply this knowledge to reading and spelling by practicing in decodable texts.

The assessments here are meant to be templates. They can then be printed off, emailed or used in digital portfolios. *Note "All Levels" includes an option for students' who were absent, are designated as an English Language Learner at the reception level (ELL) or who have an Individual Education Plan (IEP).
