Trees

tree1.gif

Lessons about trees should focus on identifying basic tree parts (trunk, leaves, roots), understanding their essential needs (sunlight, water, soil), recognizing the life-giving products trees provide (oxygen, food, wood), and appreciating their role in the environment as homes for animals and in preventing erosion. Activities should be hands-on, such as observing trees seasonally, collecting and sorting tree parts, and discussing how to care for trees and the importance of recycling paper products.
