Pets & Dog Safety

OTEV4421.GIF

For general pet care, students can learn about basic needs like proper food, clean water, and exercise, and the importance of regular vet visits. Students should learn how to interact with pets gently and calmly by observing animal body language, respecting their space, and avoiding sensitive areas like the mouth, ears, or when they are sleeping or eating. Key safety lessons include always getting permission before approaching a new pet, never disturbing a pet that is eating, sleeping, or with its young, and understanding that even familiar pets can bite if scared.
